Generations
-
- Many families have allergy and shedding concerns so we carefully choose breeding pairs which allows us to create puppies with very predictable, lowest non-shedding, allergy-friendly coats while maintaining the highly sought after Labrador personalities.
-
- Please remember that there is no such thing as a completely non-shedding dog so you should consult your allergist first if you have any concerns or have severe allergies.
Sizes
- These weights are a guide as Labradoodles are a hybrid and within any litter there may be puppies that fall above these guidelines.
Mini Labradoodles – average 20 to 35 pounds
Medium Size Labradoodles – average 30-50 pounds
Standard Labradoodles – average 45-65 pounds
Labradoodle Generations Explained
- First Generation (F1) – As first generation hybrids, these dogs have the added health benefits associated to Hybrid Vigour. This is a phenomenon in animal breeding referring to the fact that the first cross between two unrelated purebred lines is healthier and grows better than either parent line.
- First Generation Backcross (F1b) – Coat Maintenance: Low care Coat Description: Coat grows to about 2-3 inches in length and requires occasional combing. Coats are often hair coats, and others can have wavy or curly coats. Shedding: light to non-shed Allergy Friendliness: usually successful in families with mild allergies. When a family has moderate to severe allergies, a backcross Dood is recommended.
- Multigen(eration) – Multigeneration Labradoodle should be the result of generations of Labradoodle to Labradoodle breeding, but in practice backcrosses and poodles are also used in the early generations
